The Communication Model

My Original English Sonnet

H-O-M-E-W-O-R-K
Makes my poor head want to explode.
Seven periods of homework a day
makes me go into the killing mode.

No food, no fun, no sleep or anything
Sleep? Yeah sleep is for the weak.
The daily load makes my ears ring,
Sleep, I haven't slept in a week.
Yet I, young child, does not care,
Book after book, hours on the road.
Yet floors covered with torn out hair
Won't stop me from clicking "next episode"

Now young child, I have to go,
For teacher won't see my finished home to show.

Dadafied Sonnet

H-O-M-E-W-O-R-K
Makes my happy ice cream want to melt.
Seven periods of homework a day
This is the best I've ever felt!

No food, no fun, no sleep or anything
Sleep? Yeah sleep is for everybody.
The daily load makes my ears ring,
Sleep, I've slept for a whole week.
Yet I, young child, does not care,
Tubs of ice cream, all rocky road.
Yet floors covered with torn out hair
Still, I'm in my HAPPY mode!

Now young child, I have to go,
So what? The teacher already loves me so.

The Rules

Every other line is transformed into an ultra optimistic line about ice cream or whatever happy topic.

Dada

1.Dada began in the late 1910's in Europe.
2. Dada was a response to World War I and the perceived disintegration of society.
3. A Dada artist was one who was not afraid. Marcel Duchamp had put a bicycle wheel on a kitchen stool for no apparent reason and called it art. He had to be very brave to do so at that time.
4. Automatism was the process of yielding oneself to instinctive actions after establishing a set of conditions, within which a work would be carried out. Jean Arp's random pencil movements in an example of this.
5. Photomontage is a collage or a composition of picture fitted or juxtaposed together, usually photographs.
6.
objective-being part of or pertaining to an object to be drawn:
subjective-existing in the mind; belonging to the thinking subject rather than to the object of thought
nonobjective-Fine Arts. not representing objects known in physical nature;nonrepresentational:
7.
Dada relates to context as it is just a bunch of out of context images or words placed together to make a new idea.
Operation War Language

1. Major US operations began to name their operations so that the operations could be more easily communicated and not anonymous like how it used to be.

 2.Winston Churchill

3.Operation ought not to be described by code words which imply a boastful and overconfident sentiment

not of frivolous character

not be ordinary or mediocre

names of living people should be avoided

4. one, Make it meaningful

two, Identify and target the critical audience

three, Be cautious of fashions

four, Make it memorable

Rumsfield might change Infinite Justice name

1. Because the Muslim scholars believed that only Allah could impose infinite justice.

2. The form of communication that is shown is feedback because they are expressing their opinion against the message.

3. The US military had perceived that the Muslims would be okay with this name but of course, they had gotten it wrong as the Muslims had greatly rejected this controversial name. So the element of communication was perception.

Context

Context can easily change the whole meaning of something. The two minute video edited by Breitbart and O'connor had showed that Shirley Sherrod was a racist to white people, but because this video was out of context, it didn't show the truth. Shirley Sherrod was a black woman who worked in the department of rural development and her job was to help the farmers who were losing land. In the video, it showed Sherrod confessing that she hadn't helped the white farmer, but in the end she had done so. Since the public thought she deliberately ignored the white farmer's pleas, she was defamed and she was forced to resign her job. In daily life, the decoding action of people's minds are different. An example would be that if there was a Japanese girl who was always thought of as Chinese, that would be a stereotype(black hair, dark eyes) and also thinking out of context. This shows that context can really change the meaning of something.
